I created this site because racism has no place in soccer— or anywhere. Football is known as "The Beautiful game" yet there are instances of hate and discrimination happening to players and fans around the world.
This site is my way of raising awareness to fans and players alike. I want to show that fighting racism isn't just the responsibility of the players on the field, it's up to everyone. Whether you're a fan, coach, player you can learn about this topic. Together, we can make soccer a space where everyone feels respected and proud to be a part of it.
Racism in football isn't just in the past, it's happening right now, in stadiums, and online around the world. Change is happening, but there's still a long way to go. Let me show you what I mean.
According to a FIFpro report survey, more than 60% of professional players of color say they have witnessed or experienced racism during their career and 70% face online abuse after matches
An anti-racism organization called Kick it out reported a 32% increase in reported incidents of discrimination reported across the English leagues. Going to 480 such incidents compared to 325 the year prior.
Only 1 in 3 fans believe that football authorities (FIFA and national football federations) do enough to combat racism.
Players such as Vinicius Jr., Marcus Rashford, and Raheem Sterling have spoken out about it recently. This quote from Raheem Sterling sums it up best: "We have made progress, but there's still so much more to do"
